What happens if it rains?

Rain or shine, the Good Sam Bike Jam will go on. So please be prepared and bring a waterproof shell or cycling jacket (especially if you plan to ride the 62-mile route up to Jamestown .) Arm warmers and leg warmers are also recommended for additional warmth and rain protection, if the forecast calls for lower temperatures.

How difficult is the route?

•  The 62-mile route , begins on relatively flat terrain before taking riders up Lefthand Canyon to James Canyon , which is considered a moderate climb. After a fun-filled descent down the canyon, there is a short, challenging climb up Olde Stage Road and another nice descent before riders rejoin the 40-mile course.

•  The 40-mile route features a combination of flat and rolling hill terrain that covers some of Boulder County 's best cycling.

•  The route for the Family Fun Ride takes riders on a combination of gentle bike paths and low-traffic side streets, with a short section of soft-surface trail on the Coal Creek Trail. The distance to Waneka Lake is 2.5 miles, for a total round trip of 5 miles.

What is the elevation gain?

On the 62-mile route, riders climb 2,140 feet from the start to Jamestown . The 40-mile route gains 446 feet from the start to the route's high point . To view the route profiles, visit www.goodsambikejam.org and click on “ Bike Route ” on the navigation bar at the bottom of the page.

the event at the Prairie Winds Gift Shop located in the hospital. Jerseys are unisex, club cut
sizing and range from size S to XXL. To view the jersey design, visit www.goodsambikejam.org.

Why do I have to wear a wristband?

Your wristband is your ticket to aid stations, sag wagon support, mechanical and medical assistance — and what you'll need to get a free lunch after the ride.

How will I know where to go?

All riders receive a course map in their ride-day registration materials. In addition, directional arrows are strategically placed along the course to ensure that riders know where to turn at all intersections.

Where do the event proceeds go?

All event proceeds benefit the EGSMC Foundation Cardiac Care fund at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.
